Video Voter

Video Voter creates opportunities for candidates and ballot measure committees to obtain free television time to communicate their views to voters. Video Voter aims to maximize the benefits of Video Voter programming by utilizing multiple distribution channels in addition to traditional broadcast and cable television such as Cable Video-on-Demand, Digital Video Recorders (TiVo) and pod casting. Video Voter uses existing communications technologies to provide candidates and citizens with a approach to voter information.

Video Voter improves voter information at all levels of government, provides candidates with a new way to communicate with voters, encourages the use of untapped communications resources and employs new technologies to provide election information in easily accessible formats. An unprecedented opportunity now exists, while the digital television, video-on-demand and mobile video delivery industries are still in their infancy, to change the face of politics for generations to come. Video Voter enables in-depth election coverage that addresses a broad range of issues more completely and more positively. It also reduces the effect of campaign finance disparities and encourages participation by third-party and lesser known candidates.
